Early Bird
So, we know we need to eat out early, but lots of places are making that quite the treat. At Orasay, they are doing oysters at £1 a pop (as they put it) from 5-7 (or until they run out), so get in, and order something crisp to accompany. They’re also back to doing some delivery, so if you are craving that fish sandwich, it’s only a click away.

New Schedule
Carousel are back with their guest residencies – we have our eyes the Punk Royale [Stockholm] one (27-31 October), which will be a sensory eve with smoke machines, decadent, uber original dishes, and a booming soundtrack.

New
Another one for Kingly Court, Imad’s Syrian Kitchen is set to open early November. After fleeing Syria and leaving two restaurants behind, we couldn’t be more pleased for Imad with this new venture. If you can support he’s looking for the last 50K via crowdfunding, and every pence matters. We love you Imad, good luck!

Close by, the Japan Centre is launching a retro ramen place called Heddon Yokocho, which sounds good. Heddon Street needs more things like this…

In London Fields, chef Andy Beynon is opening Behind in October, a new eight course seafood chef’s table and tasting menu (one menu per day), where the entire restaurant is a counter circling the kitchen (WE LOVE THIS). There’s a wine bar adjacent, but the restaurant is hidden, hence the name. Go Andy.

Mexican
We’re giving Mexican its own category this week.

Mexican-born Andriana Cavita (ex El Bulli and Pujol) will be doing a series of pop ups at Hotbox Shoreditch starting Oct 12, £50pp, tickets here.

And as for Mexican restaurants, Santiago Lastra will be opening KOL Oct 20; the decor is said to be the colour of rural Mexican landscapes (Santiago is from Mexico City), with Nordic touches (there’s that culture clash again!). There will be two set menus (five courses £55 and six courses £70 pp), biodynamic wines and a private dining room with its own kitchen for 20. A mezcaleria is set to open later this year.

Brunch
Okay, we used the word. But Nopi is opening for weekend brunches, hooray! Sausage and egg muffin coming right up. Also, Duck & Waffle are doing bottomless brunch daily, which sounds good about right now.
