If there’s one thing we’re learning about Stevie Parle, it’s that the man can multitask. After arriving on the scene with fleeting-residency-turned-permanent-home Dock Kitchen, Rotorino became his follow-up. Set on Kingsland Road and in partnership with cocktail aficionado Jonathan Downey, Southern Italian-loving Rotorino is the kind of place you intend to go in just for dinner, and end up staying way past midnight. Sharing plates of ricotta toasts, courgette flowers or watermelon salad lend the menu a distinct Brooklyn feel, which otherwise sticks to some comfort classics like hanger steak, pea gnudi and veal and pork meatballs. Their Negroni Nights series in summer don’t help the matter of curfew, as tables are pushed to the side to create a make-shift dance floor. Let’s face it, we expect nothing less from Parle’s Dalston guise.
