The Dining Room

Mare Street Market has officially got it all: bar, casual communal dining, deli, coffee, florist, record store, furniture shop, podcasting studio and now The Dining Room – a Modern European restaurant headed up by Dominik Moldenhauer (The Shed). Expect a focus on traditional techniques such as brining, curing and smoking, with dishes being finished on the in-house robata grill. We like the sound of scallops with miso butter, mackerel ceviche with clementine, pastrami braised ox cheek and the brioche doughnut. You might be in Hackney, but the opulence is turned up to 11 here – think vintage chandeliers and Art Deco furniture – all available to purchase from Pure White Lines in the market.
