RESTAURANTS
Upmarket: La Passion, Vintl. A small but exceptional restaurant that focuses on quality rather than size. The cuisine is refined, the atmosphere intimate, and every visit feels special.
Casual: Restaurant Issinger Weiher. A wonderful lakeside restaurant that offers a great selection of Italian and international dishes. The location, which is directly on the lake, makes it the perfect place to relax and enjoy great food.
Upbeat/Energetic: Rather than a restaurant, I would recommend visiting one of the traditional Kirchtage (village festivals) in the surrounding villages. They offer a fantastic atmosphere, live music, local food, and a unique opportunity to experience authentic South Tyrolean traditions that are still very much alive today.

HOTEL
Without a doubt, my favourite hotel is Tratterhof Mountain Sky Hotel in Meransen. Not simply because it is my workplace, but because it offers such a complete experience. The combination of breathtaking views, outstanding facilities, and the genuinely warm hospitality of the ownership and team creates something truly special.

EXCURSIONS
One of my absolute favourite excursions is in the beautiful Pfunders Valley. Starting from the Gampiel Alm, the trail leads up to Lake Eisbruggsee and the Edelraut Hut. The panoramic views are simply breathtaking and among the most beautiful mountain landscapes South Tyrol has to offer.

LOCAL DRINK OR DISH
Drink: A visit to the Gitschhütte is never complete without trying one of their creative spritzes. They are refreshing, unique, and perfect after a day in the mountains.
Dish: Even though I am Tyrolean, my favourite dishes are Mediterranean specialities, especially fresh fish and mussels. For me, they are the perfect combination of freshness and flavour.

DON’T MISS…
… A traditional Kirchtag in Pfunders or the Sarntal Valley. While many tourists experience South Tyrol through its mountains and hotels, these festivals offer a glimpse into the heart of local life; they’re where South Tyrolean traditions truly come alive. You’ll find music, food, celebrations, and a strong sense of community that has been preserved for generations. It is a unique cultural experience that visitors rarely forget.
