Bistro Moderne - Daniel Boulud

Modern French bistro with a Canadian accent.

A hot newbie on the Vancouver scene, the addition of a Daniel Boulud restaurant added a much needed internationally acclaimed chef's name (Boulud owns ten award winning restaurants from Vegas to Bejing) to the West Coast shores. Instantly becoming one of the city's top dining spots, Bistro Moderne is most locals go-to restaurants for a guaranteed night of perfect service and Gallic gastronomy sure to delight even the hardest of first dates, pickiest of clients and the Mother-in-Law that just won't quit. The style is moneyed, tasteful and terribly classy, with leather seating, serious looking wooden tables and napkins monogrammed with DB - Chef-Owner Daniel Boulud's initials (he has three Michelin stars, he's allowed to). The traditional Coq au Vin is a total treat, whilst Grilled Mahi Mahi or Homemade Cavatelli Pasta with Venison Civet won't disappoint.

Top Tip / UJ Loves: Make time to perch at the bar and indulge in what locals herald as the 'best drink ever', the "Gold Rush Lush" with whisky, sortilege, hazelnut, cinnamon and edible gold. Each to their own, eh?
