What used to be fine-dining outfit 'Parkside' has entered the telephone box, Superman style, and re-emerged as an outpost of Kitsilano favourite, La Buca. Serving rustic, regional Italian dishes like Spaghetti Vongole with fresh steamed clams, or the Bistecca alla Fiorentina - a Tuscan style steak - it's a favourite amongst local foodies, romantics (thanks to its beautiful inner courtyard filled with lush foliage and the low lit dining room inside) and friends getting together for a quartino of lesser known Italian wine. Situated in a quaint townhouse in a West End residential area right beside Stanley Park and close to English Bay, it's understated class at its finest.
