Lift Bar and Grill

Lift your glasses (and your spirits) at this waterfront bistro.

Perched on the waterfront in downtown's affluent Coal Harbour, home of the million dollar views, you can practically see the fish jump from your warm, fireside seat on the deck. And if that's too close for comfort, settle for the aquamarine tank inside this super chic, darkly wooded space. Lift is West Coast dining at its finest with brunch options like the Pacific Omelette (with asparagus and tobiko) or the Coal Harbour Breakfast (complete with Johnsonville maple sausages), as well as fresh-from-the-sea catches like Wild Sockeye Salmon and Albacore Tuna on offer. Carnivores will appreciate the organically sourced meat dishes, including Alberta Beef Tenderloin which round out a dinner menu alongside a comprehensive selection of sushis, sashimis and live oysters served whichever way you please. So, if the gastronomic homage to its surroundings doesn't quite give it away, know that Lift was voted 'best martini with a view', allowing diners to worship Vancouver's natural beauty whilst they eat.

Top Tip / UJ Loves: The 'Winnie the Pooh' martini, made with stoli raz, lemon, strawberries, honey (but of course) and mango lemonade. He may be a bear of very little brain, but he's one hell of a mixologist.
