Sophie’s Cosmic Cafe

Shooting for the morning stars.

This Vancouver institution, on a corner of one of the city’s main roads, is a total parking no-go (unless you get very lucky) and queues can snake the building at weekends. But that’s the bad news out of the way - the good news is, this is a local favourite for the best brunch in town and a super fun attitude to boot that hangover right over the edge. Formica tables, bright red shiny booths and yellow walls cluttered with bric-a-brac, vintage signs and kitsch toys give off the feeling of a proper 1950s diner, with big portions of Greek omelette, home-style hash browns and pancakes for all.

Top Tip / UJ Loves: Ask for the hot sauce - it’s good!
